The business model

In order to develop software, who all we need?.

We need programmers, testers, architects, functional experts and a customer who can spell out the requirements and pay for the work completed. This is the fundamental thought process behind all agile methodologies. These days organizations are busy reducing cost by issuing pink slips to the bottom layaer of the organization. What about an organization without the top and the middle layers, which can churn out quality software at rock bottom prices with the required quality. Workootam is all about that. An organization without brick and mortar and without the top layer and at the same time accountable to the customer.

The backbone of workootam is a set of hand picked programmers, testers and architects, who will follow a common methodology for project execution (SCRUM methodology - the team will use collabteam tool for project execution).

Customers can post their requirements and the team will estimate and submit a proposal. Once the proposal is agreed by the customer, the team and the customer will get into the project planning exercise (product backlog, sprint planning). Based on the agreed upon sprints, the team delivers.

Teams may work from their own premises or from the customer's site.

There are lot of freelancer sites and at the same time, there is none which provides a project management methodology and commitment on deliveries. This is the USP for workootam.

Team member selection is based on referrals and interviews.
